There is a growing overlap between philosophy, spirituality, and computer science.  https://thecenter.mit.edu/ The question for me is simple: if there is there such thing as Truth, would AGI not be better equipped to discover and understand it?

My Moonshot is to develop AI that understands our philosophies, our religions, even our humanity, even better than we do, and in doing this, not only can it help us become better people, but it can learn how to co-exist and empower us to create and spread meaning throughout the universe.  As an entrepreneur, nothing I do is original. I take inputs, make connections, and create new formulations of what already is. It was terrifying, and it was uplifting. Before, the field of AI seemed to be for other people. But, as Stuart Russell says, to ignore this would be akin to doing the following:  “Imagine what would happen if we received notice from a superior alien civilization that they would arrive on Earth in thirty to fifty years. If actions involve connection and creation, they are meaningful. If they involve just one, they are meaningful. If none are involved but the action is intentional, it is still meaningful. I have set up this website to be the basis of everything I plan to build moving forward. For the sake of accountability, I am writing this as a blog, though publicizing this leaves me feeling dyspeptic.  Within two years, I will publicly release my first proof of concept. Everything that I do is done with the goal of helping people to live a happier, more creative, and more productive life. But given the stakes, it will be important to focus on this daily. For it's very possible that we are alone in this universe, and that gives us the unique and urgent responsibility to spread connection, creation, and intention beyond us, and beyond our world. But to do that, we must first save ourselves.
